Ed & Barb’s donuts

This sweet, family-owned Lake City institution will have you perked up quick with their deliciously soft donuts.

People new to Lake City usually ask us if their sugary breakfast treats are like the warm, melty Krispy Kreme donuts, or more like a cake-y bread donut from Dunkin Donuts. Our answer is neither- they are truly in a category of their own!

My tried-and-true favorite is the strawberry cream cheese donut. Its insides are similar to a toaster strudel- warm strawberry jelly with a sweet cream cheese filling, and white icing on top. It really hits the spot!

You’re also likely to see other yummy pastries like a maple bacon long john when you go in for breakfast and make sure you go in early because they are not open all day.

They also serve beverages like coffee and orange juice for that perfect breakfast pairings.
